Gearhart is a quaint little beach community located just 1 1/2
miles north of Seaside. The town traces its beginnings back to 1890
when it became a popular beach get-a-way for Portlanders. It
still remains one of Oregon's best kept secrets with Nantucket style
shingle homes, great walking paths and miles of wide sandy beaches and
dunes.
