Gearhart is a quaint little beach community located just 1 1/2 miles north of Seaside.  The town traces its beginnings back to 1890 when it became a popular beach get-a-way for Portlanders.  It still remains one of Oregon's best kept secrets with Nantucket style shingle homes, great walking paths and miles of wide sandy beaches and dunes.
